Flags at Half-Staff at State Capitol in Honor of Louis Sebert

PIERRE, S.D. - On July 29, 2025, Governor Larry Rhoden ordered that flags be flown at half-staff at the State Capitol from sunrise until sunset on Friday, August 1, 2025, in honor of former state legislator Louis (Lou) Sebert. He served in the South Dakota State House of Representatives from 1999 to 2006. 

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM CT on Friday, August 1, 2025, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Graveside services will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Mitchell.
