Governor Jeff Landry Closes Successful Legislative Session

From: Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry
June 12, 2025

Baton Rouge, LA - On June 12, 2025, Governor Jeff Landry marked the close of his second regular session. He successfully passed his top priorities: Insurance Reform, Making Louisiana Healthy Again (MAHA), Reorganizing the Department of Transportation, & Creating Certainty for Oil & Gas Industry.

Watch Governor Landry’s remarks here.

This legislative session, we continued down the road of promises made promises kept.

In one session, we tackled some of the toughest issues that have plagued our state for decades.

Issues that seem to just never be fixed.

We passed the most comprehensive legal reform measures of any other governor –taking on both the trial lawyers and insurance companies.

We created stability and certainty for our oil and gas industry.

We began reshaping the Department of Transportation, laying the foundation for a system that works for
you—not against you.

And with the passage of our MAHA initiative, we launched a movement to put Louisiana families on a
healthier path for generations to come.

We have kept our word and proved that bold reform is not aspirational—it’s possible.

I want to thank our legislators for their hard work, and the people of Louisiana for your confidence in me.

We came here with a mission to make Louisiana better.

And because of your courage and support—we are doing just that.

The momentum is ours.

God bless you, and God bless the great state of Louisiana.
