Mineral Wells, W.V. - On July 15, 2025, Governor Patrick Morrisey announced his plan to leverage the Ready Sites Program as the next step of his Grow West Virginia economic plan. The program will assist communities with site selection and development to attract businesses to invest and build facilities in the state.

“Speed is critically important when companies are deciding on a location to do business, build facilities, and create jobs,” said Governor Morrisey. “This funding addresses our need for critical infrastructure with the goal of attracting companies to invest in West Virginia.”

Governor Morrisey awarded $150,000 to the Wood County Development Authority to develop the Athey Property and Polymer Alliance Zone (PAZ) Industrial Park into sites that are ready to attract a manufacturing or industrial entity that will provide high paying wages in the region. The funding can be used for engineering or architectural needs related to the sites, including studies that need to be completed in order to begin development.

Governor Morrisey also announced a $37,000 grant award to the Wood County Solid Waste Authority to make electrical upgrades and efficiency improvements. This funding is part of Governor Morrisey’s larger economic development strategy to make infrastructure upgrades in West Virginia.
