Governor Reeves Appoints Major General Bobby M. Ginn, Jr. as Adjutant General of Mississippi

JACKSON, MS - Governor Tate Reeves today announced the appointment of Major General Bobby M. Ginn, Jr. as the Adjutant General of Mississippi, effective August 1, 2024. Major General Ginn replaces Major General Janson D. Boyles who is retiring.
 
“Throughout his entire military career, Major General Bobby Ginn has displayed nothing short of an impressive and unwavering dedication to our state, our military, and our nation,” said Governor Tate Reeves. “Major General Ginn has showcased a lifelong commitment to service, and I am incredibly thankful for his willingness to step into this new role. He has my complete confidence and I know that he will continue leading the Mississippi National Guard to its highest possible potential. I also want to thank Major General Janson Boyles for his incredible service to the state of Mississippi. Our National Guard is better, stronger, and more prepared thanks to his leadership.”
 
Major General Ginn began his military career in 1990 as an enlisted Soldier. In 1993, he was commissioned through the Mississippi National Guard’s Officer Candidate School and became a Supply Officer for Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 114th Area Support Group. In 1994, he was assigned as a platoon leader, and in 1999, assumed command of the 367th Maintenance Company. Since then, he has had many assignments, including commander at Camp Shelby and most recently, Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics.
 
Ginn earned a B.S. from the University of Southern Mississippi and Master of Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College.
