On May 22, 2025, Governor Kevin Stitt announced the appointment of Dana Jean Hada as associate district judge for Custer County.

“Dana brings a wealth of legal experience, a strong commitment to justice, and a deep understanding of family law to the bench,” said Governor Stitt. “Her devotion to serving Oklahoma families and communities makes her an excellent choice to serve the people of Custer County. She’s been an outstanding citizen of our state, and I’m grateful for her service.”

Hada currently balances a diverse legal career, splitting her time between private practice and public service. She owns and operates Dana Hada Law, LLC, and is affiliated with the Barney Law Office in Weatherford, where her work focuses on family law matters including divorce, paternity, guardianships, adoptions and juvenile cases. She also serves as the Assistant District Attorney for Dewey County. Additionally, she represents the Town of Shattuck as the municipal attorney and the Town of Arnett as municipal judge.

“It’s an incredible honor to be appointed to serve the people of Custer County,” said Dana Hada. “I’ve built my career around helping families navigate some of life’s most difficult moments, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to bring that same compassion, fairness, and commitment to justice to the bench.”

In addition to her legal practice, Hada teaches the legal issues course for the CLEET program at Southwestern Oklahoma State University and serves as an Associate Bar Examiner for the Oklahoma Bar Association. She previously served as president of the Custer County Bar Association in 2018.

Originally from Indiana, Hada earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology and criminal justice from Olivet Nazarene University in 2001 and received her law degree from the University of Notre Dame Law School in 2004.

Dana and her husband, Dustin, reside in Weatherford and attend the First Baptist Church in Weatherford. Dustin is the head coach of the Southern Nazarene University football team.  They have one daughter, Madelynn, who attends SNU.
