On June 05, 2025, Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt joined local leaders in Chickasha to unveil plans for a major new industrial park and power generation initiative-projects representing the largest single private investment in the city’s history. Spearheaded by Chet Hitt, the development of the industrial park is projected to attract high-demand industries, potentially creating thousands of new jobs and injecting approximately $3.5 billion into the local economy.

“This is a transformative moment for Chickasha and for the State of Oklahoma,” said Governor Stitt. “Oklahoma is open for business, and the proof is right here in Chickasha. With this industrial park and innovative energy partnership, we are creating the infrastructure and environment to continue to attract businesses here and signaling to the world that Oklahoma is the best state for business.”

“This announcement marked the beginning of a new chapter for Chickasha,” said Chet Hitt. “It’s a step that will bring opportunity, growth and future prosperity to our community.”

The event also featured the announcement of a landmark joint venture between Citizen Capital and Lightfield Energy. This partnership, led by Citizen Capital’s Executive Chairman Bond Payne and Lightfield Energy Founder Billy Sorenson, will deliver innovative, behind-the-meter power generation solutions to meet the energy demands of high-load industries, including data centers, critical minerals processing and advanced manufacturing.

“Oklahoma continues to lead the US in energy independence by combining its all-of-the-above energy policy with pioneering behind-the-meter power solutions,” said Bond Payne. “Our partnership with Lightfield Energy represents a strategic investment for national security, critical supply chains, energy independence and economic development.”

Governor Stitt and Oklahoma State Representative Brad Boles participated in a ceremonial signing of SB 480, a groundbreaking piece of legislation enabling private power generation behind the meter. This law is set to unlock billions of dollars in private investment and position Oklahoma as a hub for future industries.

Jim Cowan, President of the Chickasha Chamber of Commerce and Director of the Economic Development Council highlighted the regional impact, stating, “This investment sets Chickasha apart and establishes us as a national destination for business and innovation.”

Mayor Zachary Grayson added, “We’re proud to have partnered with the Governor and our community leaders to recruit and support new businesses, bringing jobs and opportunities to our residents.”

Oklahoma State Representative Brad Boles said, “SB 480 is landmark legislation that unlocks billions in private investment and positions Oklahoma as a hub for future industries.”

Billy Sorenson, Founder of Lightfield Energy said, “This joint venture is about creating scalable energy solutions that will rapidly support the data infrastructure of the future and ensure America’s standing as both technology and energy leader.”

The joint venture and the new industrial park signal Chickasha’s emergence as a significant player in Oklahoma’s economic landscape.
