Iowa GOP Chair Statement on Obama Loyalist Democrat Announcing Campaign for U.S. Senate

August 5, 2025

DES MOINES - Iowa GOP Chairman Jeff Kaufmann released the following statement in response to Democrat Obama loyalist and Des Moines School Board Chair Jackie Norris announcing a campaign for U.S. Senate:

“Jackie Norris is just another out-of-touch political insider looking to pad her radical résumé with a Senate run. From serving as a top aide to the Obamas to promoting far-left policies – including turning the district into a sanctuary for illegal immigrants while on the Des Moines School Board – Norris champions D.C. liberal values, not Iowa’s.

Iowans deserve a Senator who reflects our priorities, not another career Democrat operative pushing Washington Democrat’s agenda in the Heartland.

Senator Joni Ernst is fighting alongside President Trump to lower the cost of living, secure the border, and rein in reckless government spending. Washington needs more leaders like Joni Ernst – not more Jackie Norris.”
