Governor Gordon has accepted the resignation of Jenifer Scoggin as Director of the Wyoming Office of State Lands and Investments (OSLI). Scoggin has served as OSLI director since 2019 and is departing to accept a position with the law firm of Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, as a shareholder in its Natural Resources Division. Her last day as OSLI director will be September 13.

“Director Scoggin has provided stalwart service to the people of Wyoming for over 5 years.  The management of our great state lands takes a person with remarkable skills, patience and a deep understanding of Wyoming.  Director Scoggin excelled in all.  She will be missed, and I wish her well, ” Governor Mark Gordon said.

“I want to express my appreciation to Governor Gordon for entrusting me with the leadership of Wyoming's Office of State Lands and Investments,” Director Scoggin said. “For nearly six years, I have had the privilege of collaborating with an outstanding team that is deeply committed to our mission of ‘effectively managing natural resources and funds for current and future generations.’ During my tenure, OSLI has been asked to step up to unprecedented challenges. From distribution of CARES Act and ARPA funds, to changing and new land use policies and fighting catastrophic wildfires. The talented staff at OSLI took each challenge head on with tenacity and professionalism. I couldn’t be more proud of the achievements of this dedicated OSLI staff and wish them continued success.”

OSLI, as the administrative arm of the State Board of Land Commissioners, manages the approximately 3.4 million surface acres and 3.9 million mineral acres of state trust land spread throughout Wyoming – lands held in trust by the State to produce revenue to support public education and other designated beneficiaries. OSLI also serves as staff to the State Loan and Investment Board, which administers various statutorily created grant and loan programs that provide funding in the form of grants and/or loans to cities, towns, counties and special districts to finance capital construction and other infrastructure projects necessary for the health, safety and general welfare of the residents of Wyoming.

Deputy Director Jason Crowder will serve as Interim Director until a Director is named.
