Kentucky Democratic Party Reaches Lowest Point Under Andy Beshear

June 5, 2025

FRANKFORT, KY - Andy Westberry, communications director for the Republican Party of Kentucky, issued the following statement today regarding Gov. Andy Beshear’s role in the Democratic Party’s collapse of support among rural Kentucky voters:

“While Andy Beshear’s pursuit of personal power and presidential ambitions may be far-fetched, it has succeeded in gutting his own party. State Sen. Robin Webb’s recent party switch leaves Kentucky Democrats with the fewest General Assembly seats in Commonwealth history.

“Beshear’s continued pandering to the far left and total disregard for rural Kentucky voters and their values have set in motion the collapse of the Democratic Party’s support outside Louisville and Lexington.

“In 10 years, Kentucky Democrats will look back and realize what the rest of the commonwealth already knows: Beshear’s legacy isn’t revival — he’ll be remembered as the chief architect of the rural Kentucky Democrat’s extinction.”
