Columbus, OH -- Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jon Husted on Oct 28th, announced the approval of six projects that will create 415 new jobs and retain 1,118 jobs statewide.
During its monthly meeting, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) reviewed economic development proposals brought to the board by JobsOhio and its regional partners. The projects are expected to result in nearly $24 million in new payroll and spur nearly $1.1 billion in investments across Ohio.
CENTRAL
Marussia Beverages USA, Inc. and Watershed Distillery, Clinton Township (Franklin County), expects to create 35 full-time-equivalent positions, generating $2.5 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in Clinton Township. Marussia Beverages imports and distributes premium spirits, wines, and sake, and is dedicated to curating high-quality brands that provide authentic experiences for consumers. TCA approved a 1.280%, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
Microsoft Corporation, city of New Albany (Licking County), expects to create 20 full-time-equivalent positions, generating $2 million in new payroll as a result of the company’s new project with locations in Heath, Hebron, and New Albany. Microsoft is a multinational technology firm that develops, manufactures, licenses, supports, and sells computer software, computer electronics, and personal computers and services. The company has committed to making a fixed-asset investment of $1 billion, which includes $700 million in building costs and $300 million in machinery costs. TCA approved a 100%, 15-year data center sales tax exemption for this project.
NORTHEAST
Ohio Gratings, Inc., Perry Township (Stark County), expects to create 60 full-time-equivalent positions, generating $3.96 million in new payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in Perry Township. Ohio Gratings, Inc. designs and manufactures metal grating and floor products used in a variety of applications. TCA approved a 1.339%, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
Plastpro 2000, Inc., Saybrook Township (Ashtabula County) expects to create 145 full-time-equivalent positions, generating more than $7.9 million in new payroll as a result of the company’s new location project in Saybrook Township. Plastpro 2000, Inc. specializes in manufacturing high-quality fiberglass doors and related products, focusing on durability and energy efficiency. The company serves both residential and commercial markets. TCA approved a 1.357%, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
SOUTHWEST
Hit Promotional Products, Inc. and Profill Fulfillment, LLC, city of Fairfield (Butler County) expects to create 100 full-time-equivalent positions, generating $4.8 million in new payroll as a result of the company’s new location project in Fairfield. Hit Promotional Products is a fulfillment, logistics, and branding partner delivering solutions for sourcing, decorating, warehousing, and distributing branded merchandise and apparel. TCA approved a 1.266%, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
Wulco, Inc., city of Hamilton (Butler County), expects to create 55 full-time-equivalent positions, generating $2.78 million in new payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in Hamilton. Wulco, Inc. offers precision machining, fabrication, welding, and quality assurance services for the defense, aerospace, and oil and gas industries. Additionally, doing business as CIMA Packaging, the company provides innovative packaging solutions that meet federal requirements and compliance standards. TCA approved a 1.156%, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
