Oregon GOP Opposes $11 Billion Tax Hike (HB 2025)

June 27, 2025

The Oregon Republican Party stands firmly opposed to House Bill 2025, one of the largest tax increases in Oregon history. At a time when families are struggling under the weight of high taxes, ballooning housing and property insurance costs, and the ever-rising cost of living in Oregon, it is both tone-deaf and irresponsible to raise taxes and fees by more than $11 billion over the next
decade.

We are disappointed in yesterday’s vote by Representative Kevin Mannix in support of HB 2025. While we recognize the pressures our legislators face, Oregon voters depend on elected Republicans to honor the principles of fiscal responsibility and limited government that are bedrock Republican values.

As this bill moves to the House floor, we call on every Republican legislator and those Democrats who have ears to hear the voices of their constituents, to stand united in opposition to this massive and devastating tax increase. We urge concerned Oregonians to respectfully contact their ,legislators—including Representative Mannix—and encourage a vote that reflects the will of the
people: Vote NO on HB 2025.

Now is the time for resolve, not retreat. Oregon taxpayers deserve leadership that will protect them from the ever-expanding appetite for taxes in Salem.

Look up contact information for your legislators here. Contact Rep. Kevin Mannix at 503-986-1421.
