Oregon Republican Party Elects New Vice Chair Dave Brown

June 11, 2025

Salem, OR - The Oregon Republican Party (ORP) is pleased to announce the May 31 election of new Vice Chair Dave Brown. A dedicated leader, seasoned public servant, and lifelong advocate for Oregon communities, Dave brings a wealth of grassroots experience and unwavering commitment to the role.

“We are thrilled to welcome Dave Brown to the ORP leadership team,” said Chair Connie Whelchel. “Dave embodies the heart and grit of our movement. His energy, experience, and deep ties to local communities will be a tremendous asset to help build a strong, unified Republican Party across Oregon.”

Chair of the Yamhill County Republican Party, Brown has been instrumental in local political engagement—door-knocking, marketing, fundraising, and recruiting. He also serves as Vice Chair of Newberg Dundee Strong, a grassroots coalition promoting community safety, government accountability, and support for first responders, healthcare providers, and local businesses. The nonpartisan group played a pivotal role in recent city council, school board, and commissioner elections.

No stranger to leadership in high-pressure environments, Brown is a 20-year veteran of the Newberg School District and former Chair of the Newberg School Board. During his tenure, he helped defeat recall attempts of two board members. His experience includes extensive service on educational committees, safety task forces, and statewide panels where he consistently championed parental rights, educational transparency, and student safety. He also brings decades of coaching experience leading high school tennis and basketball teams and earning multiple Coach of the Year honors while mentoring dozens of student-athletes. His leadership extended beyond the court through his long-standing role on the OSAA seeding committee and as a conference coaching representative.

Brown also hosts the podcast Stand Tall with Dave Brown, where he discusses education, politics, faith, and community issues, while promoting citizen engagement and inspiring Oregonians to take action.

“I’m deeply honored to serve as Vice Chair of the Oregon Republican Party,” said Dave Brown. “Oregon is worth fighting for, and I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and help elect strong Republican leaders across this great state.”
