Rep. Nunn Delivers Strong Debate Performance, Clear Winner

October 8, 2024

DES MOINES - Iowa GOP Chairman Jeff Kaufmann released the following statement after Rep. Zach Nunn's debate with opponent Lanon Baccam on Oct. 8th:

"Rep. Nunn showed the people of Iowa and the 3rd Congressional District why he was sent to D.C. in the first place. While Lanon recited his rehearsed talking points from the DCCC, Nunn talked about his proven record of securing our border, protecting our families, and lowering costs. As two-thirds of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck and illegal immigrants wreak havoc in our communities, Lanon decided other topics were more important because he knows he cannot defend the Democrats' record. Lanon, at his core, is truly a far-left radical who is trying to hide his past involvement with the Biden/Harris campaign, and will say anything just to get elected. Only one candidate here cares about Iowans, and that is Rep. Zach Nunn."
