RPNM Chairwoman Response to the 'Raids' In Albuquerque

June 18, 2025

NEW MEXICO - “First and foremost, let’s be clear: these are not “raids.” President Trump’s administration is enforcing the law by arresting illegal immigrants who have outstanding warrants.   This is about protecting the safety of New Mexican citizens first and foremost - not sensationalizing lawful actions meant to uphold our justice system. This is a return to common-sense governance. Under President Trump’s leadership, we are once again seeing decisive action to restore order at our borders and in our communities.

In a powerful sign of progress, U.S. Border Patrol did not release a single illegal immigrant into the interior of the United States last month, according to the New York Post. Compare that to the 64,000 illegal releases in May 2024 under the Biden administration - this is a 93% decrease in illegal border crossings. This isn’t just rhetoric. This is results.

As reported: Agents caught 8,725 migrants crossing illegally at the southern border last month… and Acting Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Pete Flores said it’s a result of the Trump administration’s tough border policies.” (New York Post)

Promises made, promises kept.
President Trump is once again delivering on his word to secure the homeland and enforce immigration laws - protecting families, businesses, and law enforcement across New Mexico and the United States.

The Republican Party of New Mexico stands firmly with President Trump in defending our communities, upholding the rule of law, and putting Americans first.”
