RPNM Remembrance on September 11th

September 11, 2024

On September 11, 2024, the Republican Party of New Mexico remembers September 11th, 2001—the day that changed this nation forever. Merciless al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked four passenger planes and carried out multiple deadly suicide attacks, flying two planes into the World Trade Center in New York City, one into the Pentagon in Washington D.C., and one into an open field.

Shortly after the Twin Towers were struck, the buildings collapsed to the ground, trapping thousands of citizens underneath the rubble and debris. First responders and other brave men and women became real-life superheroes, risking their lives to rescue as many people as possible.

Nearly 3,000 Americans were lost in the terrorist attacks, including passengers, civilians, and first responders. It was one of America’s darkest days, but instead of letting the pain defeat us, our nation united in strength, love for each other, and love for our country. Our resilient American spirit enabled us to heal as a nation and rebuild even stronger than before.

Let us always remember the great Americans who were tragically taken from us on September 11th, 2001, and let us never forget what strength we are capable of when we stand united as a country in our shared American values.
