RPNM Statement on Historic Election of Pope Leo XIV

ALBUQUERQUE - The Republican Party of New Mexico Chairwoman Amy Barela issued the following statement on the historic election of American Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, who has taken the name Pope Leo XIV as the 267th pope of the Roman Catholic Church.

“The Republican Party of New Mexico congratulates Pope Leo XIV on his historic election as the first American pope. We join with the Catholic community in New Mexico in celebrating this milestone and extend our heartfelt prayers for his success in leading the Church in faith and unity.”
