Sanders Amends DR 21-17 to Provide Funding for Severe Storms and Tornadoes on or About December 10th and 11th, 2021

TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS COME – GREETINGS: 

EO 24-17: EXECUTIVE ORDER AMENDING DR 21-17 TO PROVIDE FUNDING, AS AUTHORIZED BY ARK. CODE ANN. § 12-75-114, FROM THE GOVERNOR’S DISASTER RESPONSE AND RECOVERY FUND
 
WHEREAS: On or about December 10^th and 11^th, 2021, severe storms, tornadoes, and straight-line winds began and continued with such severity that executive action was warranted to alleviate hardship and suffering;
 
WHEREAS: DR 21-17 and EO 21-18 were signed on December 11, 2021, in response to these storms; 
 
WHEREAS: Adverse circumstances have been brought to bear upon citizens and public properties within the State of Arkansas; and
 
WHEREAS: The affected political subdivisions require supplemental assistance from the state to recover from these losses.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, I, SARAH HUCKABEE SANDERS, acting under the authority vested in me as Governor of the State of Arkansas, and pursuant to Ark. Code Ann. §§ 12-75-101, et seq., do hereby amend Proclamation DR 21-17 to authorize funding in the amount of $108,376.50 to be obligated from the Governor’s Disaster Response and Recovery Fund under the Public Assistance Program. Such funds will be used at the discretion of the Director of the Arkansas Division of Emergency Management to defray both program and administrative costs.
