Sanders Amends DR 24-02 to Provide Funding for Severe Storms and Flooding on January 22, 2024

E.O. 24-14: EXECUTIVE ORDER TO PROVIDE FUNDING, AS AUTHORIZED BY ARK. CODE ANN. § 12-75-114, FOR SEVERE STORMS AND FLOODING ON JANUARY 22, 2024
 
WHEREAS: On January 22, 2024, severe storms and flooding occurred in Arkansas and continued to cause danger, hardship, and suffering throughout the state, which warrants this executive action;
 
WHEREAS: Adverse circumstances have been brought to bear upon citizens and public properties in Arkansas; 
 
WHEREAS: Certain political subdivisions require supplemental assistance from the state to recover from these losses; and
 
WHEREAS: DR 24-02 was signed on May 6th, 2024, declaring several counties as disaster areas as a result of these storms. 
 
NOW, THEREFORE, I, SARAH HUCKABEE SANDERS, acting under the authority vested in me as Governor of the State of Arkansas, and pursuant to Ark. Code Ann. §§ 12-75-101, et seq., do hereby amend DR 24-02 (dated May 6, 2024) to provide funding in the amount of $410,461.59 to be obligated from the Governor’s Disaster Response and Recovery Fund under the Public Assistance Program. Such funds will be used at the discretion of the Director of the Arkansas Division of Emergency Management to defray both program and administrative costs.
