Sanders Declares Disaster Area From Severe Storms and Flooding on July 12, 2023

TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS COME – GREETINGS: DR 24-07: TO DECLARE NEVADA COUNTY A DISASTER AREA FROM SEVERE STORMS AND FLOODING ON JULY 12, 2023

WHEREAS: On July 12, 2023, severe storms and flooding occurred in Arkansas and caused danger, hardship, and suffering throughout the state, which warrant this executive action;

WHEREAS: Adverse circumstances have been brought to bear upon citizens and public properties within the State of Arkansas; and

WHEREAS: Certain political subdivisions require supplemental assistance from the state to recover from these losses.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, SARAH HUCKABEE SANDERS, acting under the authority vested in me as Governor of the State of Arkansas, and pursuant to Ark. Code Ann. §§ 12-75-101, et seq., do hereby declare Nevada County a disaster area from severe storms and flooding that occurred on July 12, 2023, and authorize funds from the Governor’s Disaster Response and Recovery Fund, in the amount of $38,979.69, to be used for Public Assistance disaster relief to Nevada County. Such funds will be used at the discretion of the Director of the Arkansas Division of Emergency Management to defray both program and administrative costs.
