Statement From Alex Plechash, Chair Of The Republican Party Of Minnesota, Former U.S. Marine and Naval Aviator

June 21, 2025

“As a former Marine and Top Gun pilot, I know firsthand the cost of war—and the value of decisive leadership. President Trump’s targeted strike on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure sends a clear message: The United States will not sit idly by while the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism inches closer to nuclear weapons. Iran has shown time and again that it cannot be trusted.

Its regime has funded terror proxies, attacked U.S. troops, and openly threatened Israel and our allies. President Trump’s actions are not a step toward war—they are a step toward peace through strength. By eliminating key nuclear facilities, we are protecting future generations from a nuclear-armed Iran and showing rogue regimes that the United States means what it says.

It’s disappointing—but not surprising—that Democrats like Rep. Ilhan Omar and DNC Chair Ken Martin would rather criticize America’s defense than hold Iran accountable. These are the same politicians who supported sending billions of dollars to Iran with no real plan to stop their nuclear ambitions. Their appeasement-first approach endangers our troops, our allies, and global stability.

I stand with President Trump, our brave servicemen and women, and every American who believes that peace is earned through strength—not surrender.

Our troops executed this mission flawlessly, and they deserve our deepest gratitude. Because of them, the world is safer today.”
