Statement From Chairman Alex Plechash On Passage Of The Federal Budget Agreement

May 22, 2025

St. Paul, MN - Republican Party of Minnesota Chairman Alex Plechash released the following statement after the U.S. House of Representatives passed the bipartisan federal budget package championed by Speaker Mike Johnson and President Donald J. Trump:

“Early this morning, the American people scored a major win. The House of Representatives passed what President Trump has called the ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ - a budget that delivers real fiscal responsibility, national security, and conservative priorities without compromising on our values.

I want to thank our Minnesota Republican House delegation - Reps. Tom Emmer, Pete Stauber, Michelle Fischbach, and Brad Finstad - for their steadfast leadership in helping get this over the finish line.

This bill is proof that when Republicans govern with clarity and courage, we can protect taxpayers, rein in spending, and restore sanity to Washington.

While Democrats have been consumed with division, dysfunction, and radical demands, Republicans have once again shown we are the adults in the room.

Under President Trump’s leadership and with the full support of our Minnesota delegation, we’re moving the country in the right direction. This is what winning looks like - and it’s just the beginning.”
