“October 1, 2024 Night’s debate serves as a reminder of the critical issues facing our nation, including the overwhelming impact of the Biden-Harris Administration’s failed border policies. Here in Massachusetts, these failures have directly contributed to a migrant crisis that’s costing our taxpayers over $1 billion a year.

The Healey-Driscoll Administration, by mirroring the Biden-Harris failed approach to the border, has only exacerbated the problem in the Commonwealth. Local governments are now forced to seek tax overrides to compensate for the state’s mismanagement, diverting funds away from essential services to cover the costs of a federal immigration crisis.

Republicans offer a different path—one that prioritizes securing our borders, protecting our communities, and ensuring taxpayer dollars are used to benefit the people of Massachusetts, not to patch up the consequences of failed national policies.

Our nation deserves leadership that addresses these challenges head-on and brings meaningful solutions to the table.”
