Texas GOP Chair Abraham George Announces Major Investment In Legislative Races

September 16, 2024

Austin, TX - On September 16, 2024, Texas GOP Chairman Abraham George unveiled an ambitious new initiative aimed at strengthening the Republican Party’s presence in competitive state legislative districts across Texas. The announcement detailed the Texas GOP’s commitment to knocking on over 100,000 doors in key battleground areas ahead of the upcoming election cycle.

“This is a pivotal moment for Texas, and we are doubling down on our commitment to engage directly with voters across the state,” said Chairman George. “We must work to expand our Republican majorities in the Texas Legislature and we have a clear path to do so. I am committed to raising the funds necessary to ensure the Texas GOP has a larger canvassing operation than in previous election cycles.”

The focus of the Texas GOP’s canvassing campaign will be in South Texas, and other competitive legislative districts. The door-knocking effort will target several highly competitive districts and comes in addition to actively organized volunteer efforts that are underway at the state and local level. This announcement comes as part of the Texas GOP’s broader strategy to increase voter outreach and engagement ahead of the November election.
