Why Won't Abigail Spanberger Support John Reid If He's 'From Virginia'?

August 4, 2025

Abigail Spanberger has been on a nonstop tour trying to convince voters she’s “from” Virginia—as if being born here somehow excuses a career spent deep inside the Washington swamp. But if being “from Virginia” is really so important to her, we have just one question:

Why isn’t she supporting John Reid for Lieutenant Governor?

Reid was born and raised right here in the Commonwealth. He’s a lifelong Virginian who knows the values, communities, and people that make this the best place to live, work, and raise a family. His opponent, Radical Left Hidin’ Ghazala Hashmi who has refused to debate John Reid, was not born here—so does Spanberger believe that makes Hashmi unqualified?

Or is this just more empty rhetoric from a career D.C. bureaucrat trying to reinvent herself?

The truth is Abigail Spanberger has spent her entire adult life as a Deep State insider—weaponizing her position of public trust at the CIA and in Congress to push far-left, partisan Democrat goals. She helped peddle the Trump-Russia hoax, called Hunter Biden’s laptop “Russian disinformation,” and stood silently as her party waged war on parental rights, women’s sports, and the rule of law.

Now she’s asking Virginians to vote for her just because she was born here?

Being born in Virginia doesn’t make you one of us. Fighting for Virginia does. And no amount of phony campaign trail flattery can cover up Spanberger’s radical record of trying to turn Virginia into the next cautionary tale of failed far-left policies like California and New York.

Virginians know better—and they deserve better.
