CAGOP Statement on President Trump's California Visit

January 24, 2025

SACRAMENTO - On January 24, 2025, California Republican Party Chairwoman Jessica Millan Patterson released the following statement regarding President Trump’s visit to California:

“In the wake of devastating and destructive wildfires across Southern California, we are thankful that President Trump is wasting no time in visiting our state, just days after his inauguration. His visit demonstrates this administration’s commitment to helping Californians tackle our state’s many challenges, including the rampant spread of wildfires, fueled by years of Democrat mismanagement. Gavin Newsom and California Democrats have lied about, underfunded and rejected critical wildfire prevention efforts, and even today, as fires continue, they are instead busy prioritizing their special session to ‘Trump-proof’ California. While California Democrats have thwarted Republican efforts to fireproof the state, President Trump is prioritizing the safety and well-being of all Californians.”
