Governor DeWine, Lt. Governor Tressel Announce Three Projects Set to Create More Than $13 Million in Investments

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, Lt. Governor Jim Tressel, and Ohio Department of Development Director Lydia Mihalik today announced the approval of three projects that will create 1,241 new jobs and retain more than 700 jobs statewide.

During its monthly meeting, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) reviewed economic development proposals brought to the board by JobsOhio and its regional partners. The projects are expected to result in more than $65 million in new payroll and generate over $13 million in investments across Ohio.

CENTRAL

Picanova Inc., Obetz (Franklin County), expects to create 246 full-time-equivalent positions, generating more than $13 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new location in Obetz. Picanova is a decorative and lifestyle accessories manufacturer and one of the largest producers of custom wall décor in the world. The proposed project includes the relocation of Picanova’s Arizona operation to Ohio. TCA approved a 1.599 percent, nine-year Job Creation Tax Credit for the project.

NORTHEAST

Great Day Improvements, LLC, Walton Hills, Bedford Heights (Cuyahoga County), Twinsburg (Summit County), expects to create 412 full-time-equivalent positions, generating more than $22 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new locations. Great Day Improvements is a leading direct-to-consumer provider and manufacturer of premium home improvement products. The proposed project includes the reallocation of business across multiple locations and the acquisition of a new facility to increase efficiency and expand manufacturing capabilities. TCA approved a 1.743 percent, 10-year Job Creation Tax Credit for the project.

SOUTHWEST

Great Day Improvements, LLC, Sharonville (Hamilton County), expects to create 583 full-time-equivalent positions, generating more than $30 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project. Great Day Improvements is a leading direct-to-consumer provider and manufacturer of premium home improvement products. The proposed project includes the addition of multiple shifts to their weekly production schedule to expand manufacturing capabilities. TCA approved a 1.743 percent, 10-year Job Creation Tax Credit for the project.
