Governor Gordon Welcomes News of Impending Notice of Intent to Amend the Rock Springs RMP

Governor Mark Gordon welcomed news that there will be an opportunity to amend the Rock Springs Resource Management Plan (RMP) published in December 2024. The Rock Springs Field office of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) notified Cooperating Agencies today that the office will be issuing a Notice of Intent to amend the Rock Springs RMP in the coming days, giving the public another opportunity to weigh in on the plan. The current plan was sharply criticized and repeatedly challenged by Governor Gordon. The Governor’s statement follows:

“I am encouraged that this process is beginning. It is one I have advocated for since it became clear the Biden Administration had largely ignored Wyoming’s Consistency Review. I am grateful that President Trump issued Executive Order 14154 and Secretary Burgum issued Secretarial Order 3418, which helped advance this effort. It is not insignificant that the Rock Springs RMP is among the first to be reconsidered.

This is an opportunity to correct a flawed document, and I am confident that the process will be honest and responsive.”
