Governor Lombardo Requests Action on CCSD Budget from Committee on Local Government Finance

LAS VEGAS, NV – On September 27, 2024 afternoon, Governor Joe Lombardo wrote to Nevada Department of Taxation Executive Director Shellie Hughes. In his letter to her, Governor Lombardo requests that the Committee on Local Government Finance take action to evaluate the budget crisis at Clark County School District (CCSD).

Governor Lombardo writes, “To address this, I’m officially requesting that you use your authority under Nevada Revised Statutes 354.655 to 354.725, inclusive, to place an agenda item regarding CCSD’s budget concerns for discussion and consideration at the next meeting of the Committee on Local Government Finance.”

This letter follows Governor Lombardo’s letter to Senate Majority Leader Nicole Cannizzaro requesting an audit into CCSD’s budget and Superintendent Jhone Ebert’s letter to CCSD demanding accountability and updated budget information by Thursday, October 3, 2024.
