Governor Ron DeSantis Appoints Two to the State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota District Board of Trustees

TALLAHASSEE, FL - On June 27, 2025, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of Lon Deckard and Karen Rose to the State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota District Board of Trustees. 

Lon Deckard

Deckard is the Owner of Quadrel, Inc. A veteran of the United States Navy, he currently serves as a member of the Argus Foundation Board of Directors. Deckard earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky and his master’s degree in business administration from the University of Cincinnati. 

Karen Rose

Rose is a former Sarasota County School Board Member. Active in her community, she previously served as a member of the Florida Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development. Rose earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Youngstown State University and her master’s degree in education from the University of South Florida.

These appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
