WASHINGTON, D.C. - Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders delivered remarks at the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Press Conference announcing a USDA Action Plan for U.S. Farm Security on Tuesday, July 8th, alongside Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, Attorney General Pam Bondi, Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, U.S. Senators Roger Marshall (R-KS) and Tommy Tuberville (R-AL), Tennessee Governor Bill Lee, Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen, Chairman of the House Committee on Agriculture Glenn Thompson (R-PA), and Assistant to the President and Counselor to the President Peter Navarro.

The USDA’s Action Plan will promote agricultural and economic prosperity, defend the foundations of agriculture and food, and strengthen the nation’s domestic agriculture productivity by protecting the American agriculture industry from adversaries like Communist China.

Governor Sanders was the first governor in the country to kick Communist China off her state’s farmland. Additionally - this past legislative session – she signed the Communist China Defense legislative package banning the CCP from owning land near critical infrastructure, prohibiting state agencies from investing in Communist China or purchasing Chinese-made products, and stopping Arkansas’ higher education institutions from partnering with the CCP on agricultural research.

Agriculture is Arkansas’ largest industry and defending Arkansas’ farmers is a top priority for the Sanders administration. The Governor is proud to work with President Trump and his cabinet to defend our farmers and hold our foreign adversaries accountable.
