Mississippi Republican Party Endorses Ron Eller for Mississippi's 2nd Congressional District and Announces the 'Make the Delta Great Again' Task Force

September 10, 2024

Jackson, MS - The Mississippi Republican Party is proud to announce its endorsement of Ron Eller as the Republican nominee for Mississippi’s 2nd Congressional District. As we prepare for the upcoming election, our focus is clear: defeating Congre ssman Bennie Thompson and securing a brighter future for our state and nation.

Ron Eller is a steadfast advocate for Mississippi’s values and has a proven track record of leadership and commitment. His vision for the district is rooted in strengthening our communities, promoting economic growth, and ensuring our voice is heard in Washington.

To secure a brighter future for the district, it is crucial that we address the failures and misguided policies of Bennie Thompson. His record reflects a series of actions that have undermined our way of life all while pursuing a partisan agenda at the expense of our state’s interests. Why We Must Defeat Bennie Thompson:

A Dangerous Agenda Against Our National Security: Bennie Thompson, as the ranking member of the House Committee on Homeland Security, introduced H.R. 8081, a resolution aimed at stripping President Trump of his Secret Service protection. This reckless move undermines the security of our nation’s leaders and disregards the safety of the American people. Personal Vendetta Against President Trump: Thompson’s leadership has been marked by a personal vendetta against President Trump. His actions have not been in the interest of national security or public safety but instead driven by partisan politics and personal grievances. Failure in Border Security: During Thompson’s tenure as chairman of the Homeland Security Committee, we witnessed the most significant invasion of illegal aliens in the history of our Nation. His leadership, or lack thereof, failed to protect our borders and enforce our immigration laws, resulting in a significant strain on our communities and resources. Undermining of Local Agriculture: Thompson’s actions in killing the Yazoo Backwater Pumps, in conjunction with the Biden Administration, have cost Mississippi farmers millions. This decision has devastated our agricultural sector, the backbone of our rural economy. In light of these failures, the Mississippi Republican Party is mobilizing for change. To lead this charge, we are excited to announce the creation of the “Make the Delta Great Again” Task Force. Chairwoman Sue Morrison will spearhead this initiative in conjunction with the Eller Campaign, working tirelessly to restore prosperity, security, and opportunity to the region.

As we move forward, we call on all Mississippians to unite to reclaim the district and nation. The upcoming election is not just about choosing a representative but about rejecting a record of failure and dishonesty. Let’s unite as Americans, uphold our values, and ensure our voices are heard. Ron Eller represents a fresh, hopeful future for Mississippi’s 2nd Congressional District. Let’s make our stand and make the Delta Great Again.
