DR 25-08: DECLARING DISASTER AREAS FROM SEVERE STORMS ON OR ABOUT MAY 16TH, 2025
WHEREAS: On May 16th, 2025, and continuing through May 20th, 2025, severe storms struck Arkansas and caused dangers, hardships, and suffering throughout the state, which in turn, warrants this executive action;
WHEREAS: Adverse circumstances have been brought to bear upon citizens and public properties in the State of Arkansas; and
WHEREAS: The affected political subdivisions require supplemental assistance from the State to recover from these losses.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, acting under the authority vested in me as Governor of the State of Arkansas, and pursuant to Ark. Code Ann. §§ 12-75-101, et seq., do hereby declare Chicot, Sebastian, St. Francis, & Washington Counties as disaster areas and authorize Public Assistance disaster relief for these counties.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the State of Arkansas to be affixed this 5th day of August, in the year of our Lord 2025.
