Statement From CT Republican Chair Ben Proto On President Biden’s Cancer Diagnosis

May 19, 2025

Middletown, CT - News of President Joe Biden’s cancer diagnosis brings home the harsh reality that cancer can touch any life at any time. Having lost my own father to bone cancer, I understand the pain and uncertainty that comes with such a diagnosis. I will continue to keep President Biden and his family in my thoughts and prayers.

Critical moments like these need to bring us together as Americans. Political differences aside, our common humanity compels us to stand with the Biden family at this time.

“This is a time to set politics aside and lead with compassion,” said Chairman Proto. “A cancer diagnosis is a battle no one chooses, and one that demands support from all of us.”

The Connecticut Republican Party sends our sincere hopes for healing to President Biden and strength to his family in the days ahead.
