Statement from Ed Cox on Democrats' Latest Assault on 2A Rights

ALBANY - NYGOP Chair Ed Cox released the following statement after a recent court ruling paved the way to hold gun manufacturers liable for shootings:

“The recent decision upholding New York’s reckless gun manufacturer liability law is another example of Albany Democrats’ relentless assault on constitutional rights and their dangerous government overreach that is driving families and businesses out of our state.

“The radical left’s strategy is transparent: if they can’t ban guns outright, they’ll sue manufacturers into bankruptcy and make it impossible for law-abiding New Yorkers to exercise their constitutional rights. This isn’t about public safety - it’s about appeasing anti-gun extremists at the expense of our constitutional freedoms.

“New York under one-party Democrat rule remains hostile to constitutional rights, free enterprise and the rule of law. Laws like this will continue to drive out citizens, as families flee New York in record numbers.”
