Statement From Ed Cox on Zohran Mamdani's Primary Victory

June 24, 2025

New York City - NYGOP Chair Ed Cox released the following statement:

“Zohran Mamdani’s victory in the Democratic primary is the most alarming signal yet of how far left and out of touch the Democratic Party has become. Mamdani is a self-described socialist who has supported the defunding of our police, the boycotting of our allies and policies that failed in the Soviet Union.”

“With Mamdani as the Democratic nominee, anti-Semitism is now dangerously close to having official status in City Hall. Mamdani must be defeated in November - and Republican Curtis Sliwa is the only candidate who will fight for safe streets and economic opportunity for all New Yorkers.”
