ALBANY - NYGOP Chair Ed Cox released the following statement:
“With heavy hearts, New York Republicans mourn the passing of Anthony J. Colavita, a pillar of the New York Republican Party and a true public servant. Tony was both a former Chair of the New York State Republican Party and a devoted leader in Westchester County.
“Tony’s dedication to public service was evident throughout his life. He served as the Town Supervisor of Eastchester, where he led the acquisition of the Lake Isle Country Club—an enduring gift to the residents. His impact reached far beyond his official roles, as he maintained a successful legal practice, contributed to numerous civic organizations, and volunteered as a firefighter.
“On behalf of the entire New York Republican Party, we offer our deepest condolences to his wife Margaret, his children Anthony, John, and Christine, and his beloved grandchildren. Tony’s spirit and contributions to our party and state will be remembered fondly, and his legacy will continue to inspire those of us who follow in his footsteps. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.”
