Trump or McFadden: Who Does Stein and Jackson Stand With?

May 2, 2025

In just over 100 days in office, President Trump delivered on one of his biggest campaign promises to the American people: a secure border and safer communities.

President Trump has deported at least 139,000 illegal immigrants since returning to office,  removing scores of violent illegal immigrant killers, rapists, gang members, and other sick criminals.

On day one, President Trump ended the dangerous Biden-era “catch-and-release” policy. He signed the Laken Riley Act into law, which requires illegal immigrants arrested or charged with theft or violence to be detained.

His policies are working. Illegal border crossings hit a new low in March, with Border Patrol agents seeing just 7,181 illegal immigrants entering the US illegally – a 95% decrease from 2024, a 96% decrease from 2023, and a 97% decrease from 2022. Between January 20 and April 1, only 9 illegal immigrants were released into the US – a 99.9% decrease from the more than 184,000 released into the country under Biden during the same period last year.

As successful as President Trump has been, some elected officials haven’t gotten the memo.

One of the most egregious examples is the Democrat Sheriff of Mecklenburg County, Garry McFadden.

For years, McFadden has been one of North Carolina’s most liberal criminal sympathizers. Now, he’s using evasive language to avoid working with federal authorities to remove dangerous illegal immigrants from the state’s largest city.

McFadden is actively refusing to notify ICE before releasing illegal immigrants back into communities.

His inaction and opposition has been called out by Border Czar Tom Homan, who said recently, “If you care about the safety and security of your community, give us that public safety trust to do our job… victims and witnesses of a crime don’t want the bad guy back in their neighborhood,” he said. “Give us access to the jail to arrest the public safety threat. It’s safer for the officer; it’s safer for the alien. It’s certainly safer for the community.”

What is McFadden's problem and why are Gov. Josh Stein and Attorney General Jeff Jackson refusing to say ANYTHING about it?

Stein and Jackson talk a lot about their efforts to make communities safer, but they won't actually do it. North Carolinians deserve leaders who keep their campaign promises like President Trump.
