The main mouthpiece of Biden's failed Potemkin administration, Karine Jean-Pierre, has fled her darling Democratic Party, officially registering as an independent. The announcement coincides with the release of her book, "Independent: A Look Inside a Broken White House, Outside the Party Lines," and evidently the complete abandonment of her personal scruples as well as amnesia regarding her activities over the past five years. The French-born daughter of Haitian immigrants arrived in the United States as a child, earning a Master’s in Public Affairs at Columbia before swiftly climbing the ranks at the DNC, first achieving national recognition during the Obama administration.
She later served as a senior adviser to Biden's successful 2020 campaign, joining his White House post-inauguration as Vice President Kamala Harris's chief of staff and eventually securing a position as the administration's press secretary. While many of her predecessors translated the illustrious job into cushy media positions (think George Stephanopoulos, Dana Perino, Ari Fleischer, and Sarah Huckabee Sanders), Jean-Pierre faced a particular pickle as news of Biden's failing health emerged, alongside allegations of her participation in its cover-up.
The erstwhile loyalist, who had called any critique of the President following his faltering debate performance last summer a "firing squad," abruptly changed her trustworthy tune after post-White House opportunities failed to materialize, and the remainder of her political career turned murky. While she had reportedly hoped to translate her tenure into a hosting gig at 'The View,' she was allegedly met with empty air, a condition that was likely not improving as more news of Biden's declining health has leaked.
Jean-Pierre will likely be called to testify at the House Oversight Committee as it begins to investigate the timeline of Biden's deterioration. The group issued a subpoena this week compelling the President's doctor, Kevin O'Connor, to do so, as it seeks to uncover how much of the previous administration was actually under the control of its Chief Executive and how much was carried out by a halfway junta of unknown, unelected DNC operatives. Jean-Pierre held her position during the second half of his administration and repeatedly told the press that the President was as sharp as ever, in perfect health, and in complete control of the country, despite proximity close enough to understand otherwise.
For his part, President Trump has called for a full investigation into his predecessor's health and cognitive abilities, particularly regarding the use of an autopen to sign significant amounts of legislation. In a statement, he said, "This conspiracy marks one of the most dangerous and concerning scandals in American history. The American public was purposefully shielded from discovering who wielded the executive power, all while Biden's signature was deployed across thousands of documents to effect radical policy shifts." While Presidents are allowed to employ such 'auto-pens, ' Trump declines to use one for any legally binding documents and questions who gave the directives behind the use of Biden's.
What does Karine Jean-Pierre's change of affiliation and the release of her new book say about the environment of the Biden administration? Is she in any way responsible for the alleged cover-up of his decline?
