The First 100 Days

May 9, 2025

As the President wraps up the first 100 days of his second administration, the nation reflects on the progress he has made towards fulfilling campaign promises. Following a lengthy election filled with countless commitments, Trump showed no hesitation in taking swift action on day one and has continued to do so every moment he has spent in office. Many agree that only former leader Franklin Delano Roosevelt rivals the Donald in swift, meaningful legislation, a refreshing change after so many decades of specious promises and backroom deals. Both were elected during times of stress and faced unknown national futures, leading a country of fearful but hopeful constituents who wanted nothing more than a shot at the original promises of this free land.

During these 100 days, Trump has taken action in almost every remote corner of the political arena. Under his recent leadership, illegal crossings at the southern border have plummeted, reaching their lowest monthly level in 25 years during the President's first full calendar month in office, down 94% from the previous year. He oversaw the drafting of and signed into law the Lakin Riley Act name for a young woman who had been brutally murdered by an illegal immigrant who had previously been in police custody and released.

He implemented tariffs not only to create trade parity with other nations but to incentivize international action on illegal immigration and the deadly trafficking of fentanyl. His Food and Drug administration has banned the use of dangerous petroleum based food dyes, shown to be particularly harmful to children.

He has incentivized domestic production and investment, including helping to secure a historic $500 million deal with Apple, which promises to create up to 20,000 US-based jobs. After losing an estimated 8000 US manufacturing jobs per month during the last year of the Biden administration, Trump's first full month in office saw an increase of 9000 such positions.

He has secured the release of 26 Americans either held hostage or unjustly detained by other nations. He has taken action to protect women in sports, allowing them to achieve athletic excellence in their own right, rather than competing with biological males for limited prizes. He has made significant moves in protecting Jewish students on college campuses across America from the widespread anti-Semitism that erupted after the brutal Hamas invasion of Israel last October.

The United States military has seen its highest enlistment numbers in decades, driven by the hope and patriotism the trump administration espouses. His Department of Government Efficiency has reportedly identified $160 billion in potential savings for taxpayers, one of the largest budgetary restructuring efforts in American History.

Most importantly, Donald Trump has helped to demonstrate that politicians are capable of keeping the promises they make. Political campaigns and their related speech have become almost allegorical in their persuasions, offering glimpses of life that no voter realistically expects to see materialize. In just 100 days, Trump has shown that he is willing to take the necessary steps to attain his vision for America.

How do you feel President Trump has done during these first 100 days? What will the rest of his Presidency look like based off his first chapter?
