CONCORD, NH - Elected officials and law enforcement leaders in the North Country are applauding Governor Kelly Ayotte’s leadership in passing the budget for all of New Hampshire, which includes key investments to strengthen border security, boost drug interdiction efforts, and support local law enforcement.
The final budget agreement provides critical funding for the Northern Border Alliance and creates a dedicated Northern Shield program, both of which are aimed at enhancing public safety, disrupting drug trafficking routes, and helping officers keep dangerous criminals out of New Hampshire.
“Governor Ayotte understands the unique challenges we face in the North Country,” said Coös County Sheriff Keith Roberge. Her commitment to law enforcement and border security in this budget is a big win for our officers and for the safety of every Granite Stater. Funding for the Northern Border Alliance and this new Northern Shield program will ensure we can continue to fight drug trafficking and keep dangerous criminals out of our state.”
