Statement on Prime Minister Netanyahu's Address to Congress

MIDDLETOWN - On July 24, 2024, Connecticut Republican Party Chairman Ben Proto released the following statement on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address to the United States Congress in Washington, DC.

“Connecticut Republicans welcome Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu back to the United States. Despite the protests of many radical Democrats on the Far Left, America stands side by side with the State of Israel. Prime Minister Netanyahu’s speech before Congress demonstrated strength, solidarity with the United States, and commitment to bringing home the eight American hostages held by Hamas since the horrific terrorist attacks on October 7, 2023. Our fellow Americans will not be forgotten, and it is important that we continue to support our allies who help promote freedom, security, and prosperity in the Middle East and throughout the world,” said Connecticut Republican Party Chairman Ben Proto.

Proto added, “It is shameful that Vice President Kamala Harris chose to shirk her duties of presiding over the joint address to cajole terrorist sympathizers. If Americans had any question about where the Vice President stood on the United States’s relationship with one of our greatest allies look no further than her response to antisemitism on college campuses and her silence at the vandalism of monuments with antisemitic vitriol and the burning of our flag at the capital today.”
